• Growth trajectory:
This represents a continued increase from current levels, indicating the potential for further economic power within the Black community.
• Importance for brands:
Companies are increasingly recognizing the need to cater to Black consumers due to their significant purchasing power.
KEY # 1 – Change Your Mindset
• About money – it’s used as a tool to build wealth not buy depreciating products
• About consumerism – we are super consumers and need to be producers also
• Don’t believe the lies about Black-owned businesses being inferior and selling inferior products or services
• Understand what the master plan is from other ethnicities and media – divide and conquer and suck the life out of our community
• Here’s what they think about you – continue to buy from people who don’t care about you and treat you badly
KEY # 2 – The Importance Of Building Successful Sustainable Black-Owned Businesses
• Move from super consumer to the producer side of the ledger
• Circulating dollars in our own community and becoming self-sufficient
• Healthy businesses allow us to hire people that look like us and give them a chance at gainful employment
• Take control of our own destiny and not be dependent on having somebody else feed our families (BEB episode # 537 – “The Power Of Entrepreneurship – If You Don’t Feed Me You Can’t Starve Me.”) Here’s the link: https://traffic.libsyn.com/blackentrepreneurblueprint/Black_Entrepreneur_Blueprint_537__Jay_Jones_-_The_Power_Of_Entrepreneurship__If_You_Dont_Feed_Me_You_Cant_Starve_Me.mp3
KEY # 3 – Support Black Owned Businesses
• Put the same scrutiny you do on Black businesses as you do on other businesses
• Don’t expect Black businesses to give you discounts and hookups just because they’re Black owned
• Understand why pricing may be different than other stores based on cooperative buying power
• Be intentional in your support – only 2 cents from every dollar you spend is spent in Black-owned establishments
