The lifeblood of every business is having more than enough qualified sales leads, but unfortunately, most failing businesses have never mastered the art of lead generation.
Most people like stories, so I’m going to give you a story/ case study about one of my businesses that almost shut down until I learned how to create a profitable, consistent flow of qualified leads that revitalized the business.
The Business
I owned a commercial loan company where I provided funding for businesses including merchant cash advance loans, commercial real estate loans, business funding, and receivable funding (1619 Funding was the name).
The Problem
Not enough time or bandwidth to generate enough qualified leads to be profitable. I was using networking to generate leads because I didn’t want to spend too much time or effort on the business because of all the projects I was working on. Needless to say, the business floundered and didn’t do much at all. I was running social media ads also, but they were not converting. I was wasting my time trying to contact the website visitors requesting info and spinning my wheels.
I invested about 15K over a four-month period and only closed one small merchant cash advance loan that paid me $3,922 in commissions.
My Solution
I changed my entire marketing strategy by making my prospects raise their hand and ask me for help. I drove traffic to a quiz landing page instead of my regular website page. This interactive page looked similar to “Lendingtree.com where it asked several questions and recommended a specific loan product with an application.
In order to get a quote, they would have to complete the short one-page application. After I pre-qualified the application I sent them an email to review their loan options with my phone number. If they called great, if they didn’t great. I was in control.
What You Need To Do To Get Qualified Leads Begging To Connect With You
1 Have a solution for their problem
2 Make them qualify themselves through a lead generation system
3 Make them reach out to you – totally different dynamic than chasing them
4 Provide a viable solution to their problem or if they aren’t qualified yet, help them to get qualified in the future
How Do You Create That Lead Generation System?
The easiest way I’ve found to build a sales system is to make your prospects qualify themselves and then have to take action to do business with you. (Ex: my ADT dealership sales rep hiring process)
